CURRENT NEWS Post-1700 monuments in Ireland We are pleased to report that Mr Jimmy Dennihan TD—Minister for Arts, Heritage & the Gaeltacht, has responded to the outcry surrounding the threat to post-1700 archaeological monuments. A PR communication from his office can be viewed here.[21/9/2011] * It was with some sense of dismay that IPMAG learnt recently of the proposed de-listing of post-1700 archaeological monuments by the Department of Arts, Heritage & the Gaeltacht. IPMAG 2013 IPMAG, with support from the Society for Post-Medieval Archaeology (SPMA), proposes to hold its 2013 annual conference in Derry in 2013, when the city enjoys UK City of Culture status. New IPMAG publication: Ireland and Britain in the Atlantic World Ireland and Britain in the Atlantic World was launched at the Tower Museum, Derry on the 27th March 2010.
