RAE : Nursing at the University of Ulster is in the premier league of universities in the UK and in terms of 4* research we are ranked among the top 3 universities.
The RAE2008 results show that 100% of nursing research at the University of Ulster is of international standard and that 40% is ‘world leading’.

Our aim is facilitate, co-ordinate and to carry out high quality nursing research and to promote a vibrant culture of research and scholarship within the University of Ulster and in partnership with health providers, commissioners and other centres of excellence.
The Institute endeavours to:
- promote high quality basic, strategic and applied research;
- strengthen the national and international research base in nursing and related disciplines;
- investigate health service organisation, delivery and effectiveness;
- provide consultancy services in partnership with Health and Social Service Trusts, GP Fundholders and Commissioners;
- educate high calibre research students;
- provide a base for visiting scholars.
The Institute is located in the School Nursing at the University of Ulster with a base in on the Jordanstown, Coleraine and Magee campuses.
