The Institute of Nursing and Health Research
Professor McCormack's appointment to the European Academy of Nursing Science
Congratulations to Prof Brendan McCormack, Director of the Institute for Nursing Research, on his recent appointment to the Board of the European Academy of Nursing Science.
The academy, founded in 1998, is an independent body, whose individual members have made significant contributions to the advancement of nursing science in Europe through scholarship and research. It provides a forum to link individual nurse scientists from university nursing departments across Europe in which there are active doctoral programmes. Via this forum, established and developing nurse researchers can meet, network and develop a European perspective to their work.
Brendan, who has been appointed for a four year term, says: “I am delighted to have been given this opportunity to advance nursing at a European level. The Academy plays an important role in connecting the nursing community through scholarship, fellowship and networking.”
EANS holds an annual scientific meeting each winter and a summer school each summer for nurses undertaking PhDs in Europe.
