Find out about about Primary Habitats such as woodland, bog, heath and grassland in Northern Ireland, how much habitat there is in the countryside and how the habitats have changed over the last 10 years. Get information on the length of hedges and other Field Boundaries such as dry stone walls, earth banks and fences in the countryside and find out what changes have taken place. See how habitats, field boundaries and patterns of change are distributed in Local Areas throughout Northern Ireland. Combinations of Primary Habitats are presented as Broad Habitats, a generalised classification of land cover, developed for the UK Biodiversity Action Plan.
