Short CoursesShort courses consist of 2/3 modules and focus on specific areas of practice. They provide an introduction to key concepts and practice issues within the selected area of practice and are designed to enable nurses and other professionals in the case of interprofessional courses to increase their existing knowledge and skills. These courses do provide a valuable enhancement in knowledge and skills for students, and do gain academic credits and awards, however, they do not lead to a recorded NMC qualification. People undertaking short courses are normally working within specific areas of practice and seeking to build on their existing knowledge and skills, prior to undertaking a specialist practice course.
